A Bit About Me
Sonia is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience working with a variety of clients and settings. She received her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Columbia University in New York City. She holds a Professional Educator License as a school social worker. She is bilingual and bicultural and is passionate about working with individuals who are experiencing challenges in their lives.

Sonia’s experience includes providing individual, family, group, and crisis counseling. She has worked in state social services, private practice, non-profit organizations and schools. She specializes in working with individuals experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, relationship issues and other general adjustment issues. Sonia also holds the Illinois Certified Domestic Violence Professional (CDVP) credential and Certified Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist Intensive Training (ASDCD).

Sonia enjoys working with individuals and their families to help them reach their full potential. She believes meaningful change comes through a strong therapeutic relationship, empowering clients to build resilience, challenge unhealthy behaviors, and reach their personal goals.
