A Bit About Me
Damaso is a licensed clinical social worker with over 15 years of experience working in the mental health field. He utilizes an eclectic approach to the therapeutic relationship that is holistic, strengths-based, solution-focused, and client-centered. When requested, he incorporates faith and a Christian perspective in his sessions. Damaso values the therapeutic relationship and encourages the individual to guide the therapeutic process. He specializes in a range of mental health issues, including depression, anxiety, end-of-life, older adult issues, trauma, religious struggles/spiritual distress, religious trauma, and spiritual abuse.
Damaso holds graduate degrees in social work, sociology, and divinity. He is a Level II-Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional who has completed specialty training in religious trauma. He is trained in and utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Bilateral/Binaural Stimulation. He is also a college educator who teaches coursework on gender and sexuality, race and ethnicity, marriage and family, deviance, and ethics.
